CUPPING THERAPY & CRANIOSACRAL

Deep Relaxation With CranioSacral Therapy

At A Balanced Body Massage & Spa, our licensed massage therapists believe that a gentle touch can make a remarkable difference to your nervous system, which is why we offer CranioSacral therapy at $90 for 75 minutes.

CranioSacral therapy involves applying a soft touch, not greater than 5 grams or about the weight of a nickel, by certified practitioners to release restrictions in the craniosacral system and improve the functioning of the central nervous system.

Benefit From Our Cupping Therapy

Massage cupping focuses on reducing stagnation and restrictions in the problem areas by breaking down adhesions and knots by helping to increase fluid circulation (blood and lymph).

This technique helps reduce the buildup of cellular waste, toxins, inflammation, and excess fluids by assisting in dragging them from deep within muscles or soft tissue to the body’s surface, where they can be more efficiently disposed of via the lymphatic system.

More specifically, the massage cupping technique assists in:
  • Clearing stagnation
  • Relieving inflammation
  • Draining or moving fluids
  • Sedating the nervous system
  • Expelling congestion
  • Stretching muscles and connective tissues
  • Loosening adhesions and scar tissue
  • Nourishing the blood supply to the skin
  • Reducing cellulite appearance
  • Deep tissue work
  • Relaxation and wellness

Learn More About Cupping Therapy and Facial Cupping

Cupping therapy has been in use for thousands of years dating back to Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome.

Suction cups may be magnetic or nonmagnetic, with positive and negative poles, to help enhance the tissue healing process.

Massage cupping is performed by applying "reverse pressure" to the body, via glass or plastic suction cups that are generally placed or massaged along problem areas, in the direction of natural lymphatic flow.

Relief is experienced as the cup pulls the fascia away from the muscle, relaxing it. Cupping may result in skin discoloration that may last a few hours to a couple of days.

Sessions are typically 10-20 minutes in length and can be integrated with traditional massage therapies.

Facial cupping is a form of noninvasive treatment that can minimize the effects of aging, sun, and environmental damage.

Small cups apply "negative pressure" to lift the facial tissue. The effects brought about by cupping can have several aesthetic benefits that work on both dry and oily skin types.

Benefits and how they work:
  • Reduces the visible fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring from injuries or acne through the lifting motion
  • Heals and reduces smile and laugh lines as the connecting tissue under facial skin is stimulated
  • Softer, younger appearance due to effective massaging movement that helps to relax tense facial muscles
  • Reduces edema and puffy appearance as a result of drainage of fluid in the lymph glands
  • Beauty products are more effective and absorbed better when used post-treatment.
  • Helps to even out skin tones and lead to plumper skin and a glow
